In update version 2.44 there are improvements to the Workspace 365 email app. The new adjustments make it even easier to save attachments directly to SharePoint or OneDrive using any device. Next to this, we have added the possibility to immediately open the saved attachments. Next to these additions, we have developed a Business App API which can be used to push data from third party applications directly to the Workspace 365 Business Apps. New: Easily save email attachments to SharePoint

Earlier this week I wrote a blog about the reason people choose for the Workspace 365 email app (reminder: compared to Office 365 you can easily save attachments to SharePoint). We see that this functionality is used often, although we still received questions about it during user trainings. For some people, who are new to touch devices, it wasn’t clear that they could reach the attachments by holding their finger on the attachments a little longer. As we want to make it as easy as possible, we have now made it more clear how you can save attachments.

New: Open email attachment notification

As it is now easier to store the attachment to SharePoint, a logical step was to also improve the opening of saved attachments. That is why we have now added a notification which allows you to open the document or file location in a single click.

New: Workspace 365 Business App API

Within Workspace 365 it is possible to integrate Business Apps to simply business processes or to add parts which you are now missing within other business applications. We have a standard set of Business Apps including Offers, Invoices, Contracts, Time Registrations, Activities, and more.

Our goal with Workspace 365 is to simplify work by gathering all the applications and data within one workspace. To realise this, we developed the Business App API. With the first version of the Business App API it is possible to push data from third applications directly to Workspace 365 Business Apps. This allows you to e.g. push information from a web form to a Contact app within Workspace 365. We are very curious which solutions our partners will develop for their customers, please let us know. Coming up: Live Tile Redesign

Next to these additions, we are already working hard towards the coming release. To improve the information flow our UX Designer performed tests with workspace users to gain insights on their behavior. The tests show that people love the colors of live tiles, as this makes them recognizable. However, the colors also influenced the readability. That is why you will soon see a new redesign for the live tiles!
