Update 3.14: The Birthdays live tile

This Workspace 365 update is short and sweet. We’ve been working on some great improvements behind the scenes to make working with the adaptive workspace even easier, but of course we also added a great new feature: the Birthdays live tile. Curious to what this is? Keep on reading!

The Birthdays live tile

This update we’re proud to introduce the Birthdays live tile. In this live tile, you can view the upcoming birthdays of your colleagues. This adds another social intranet element to your adaptive workspace, and gives you the ability to stay connected with your colleagues. Even if you’re not working in the same location.

Birth dates are automatically added to the workspace through Microsoft Graph, but you can also add your birthday through your profile settings. Additionally, we have good news for HR-managers, because you can connect your existing HRM system to Microsoft Graph, to keep your information up to date and make importing birthdays even easier.

Showing your colleagues’ birthdays helps you to stay engaged with your colleagues and acts as a reminder to give or send your congratulations. And to let you know when to start baking them a marvelous birthday cake, of course.

Only see relevant document templates

When using the Workspace 365 Document App, from now on, you can choose to only see the document templates that belong to specific folders. Before, all templates from SharePoint were visible in every document library. However, some companies have many different templates. To prevent clutter and too many templates showing at once, you can set up that when in a document library, only the corresponding templates are shown. When you’re for instance in the Sales document library, only the Sales templates will be visible. For new environments, this will be the default settings.

The features above are the highlights of this update. But there’s more, such as:

• Owners of shared tile groups can now modify these groups in shared spaces, without needing the ability to modify the shared space itself.
