Get ready for update 3.18, because it will save people a lot of time! We are very proud to introduce the new global search functionality, bringing you the apps and information you’re looking for in a matter of seconds. We’re also introducing our Activity feed API, enabling you to integrate external information in your Activity feed. Curious? Keep on reading!

Search through your entire workspace

Manual search is something of the past. Instantly find whatever application or information you’re looking for with the new global search functionality.

With this new search bar in the header of your workspace you search through your entire workspace, including the contents of all your documents. When you’re for instance searching for HR documents, such as policies on how to request leave, you can simply type in “leave request” and it will search for the documents that contain those terms.

Instant access to full-page apps

The search function also enables you to quickly open your web content applications on a full page, without having to add the app in question as a header tab to your workspace. Think for example of your dashboards with statistics, calendars, video playlists and much more. This is especially useful for applications that are convenient to view on an entire page, but are not used so often that you need them to be accessible from the header. This will prevent you from having too many apps as tabs, but will still allow you to quickly access your apps when you need them.

This will bring the right information and applications immediately to you, without you having to search for it yourself, saving you significant amounts of time each day. In the near future we will also add the possibility to search through contacts, emails and announcements.

Global Search Workspace 365

Task-based Activity feed using APIs

To bring back focus on people their primary tasks we thought of a new way to reduce the time they spend in applications. You can now use the Workspace 365 Activity feed to enable a task-based approach to working. It is now possible to connect countless applications to your Activity feed. You can use our new Activity feed API to display external information, tasks and notifications within your workspace.

For example, you could connect your HR system and set it up in such a way that whenever someone requests time off, their team manager gets a notification in their Activity feed. With one click they can immediately open their HR system to approve or reject the request.

The same could go for new support tickets for the IT desk, or when someone submits an expense claim with Finance. If your current applications allow you to set up an “if this, then that” kind of action, you can add it to the Activity feed in your adaptive workspace. Making your work, smarter and more efficient.

Activityfeed API Workspace 365

Connect thousands of applications to Workspace 365

It is possible to connect citizen integrator tools such as Zapier or IFTT to the Workspace 365 Activity Feed API. This allows you to connect your to e.g. ERP, project management, CRM systems and applications like Excel or Google Sheets, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Trello, Airtable, ActiveCampaign, Asana, Monday, Salesforce, and thousands more.

It is relatively easy to setup for people who are slightly tech-savvy. This allows you to enable citizen developers and integrators within your organization to use the Activity Feed API to further improve your digital employee experience within the workplace. Currently, you have to be an admin in Workspace 365 to create Activity feed API tokens.

The Activity Feed API will be available as beta in Simplify to collect feedback. When it moves out of beta, this feature will be available in the Boost license.

What else is new?

The features above are the highlights of this update. But there’s more, such as:

  • More contacts can be loaded in the Address sidebar
  • All scrollbars are now consistent (not supported by IE11)
  • We show a message about the Business Apps deprecation
