This release focuses on improving the way users and groups are provisioned in Workspace 365. Accessing specific knowledge to your department or role is now even easier with our new knowledge live tile. These two new features will give you a better experience within your workspace. Let’s get straight into it!
Create your knowledgebase live tile
Most of you are already familiar with our live tiles available for the Hub. It allows you to create a live tile to display all announcements or only a particular category of announcements, depending on what is available to you as a user.
By extending the Hub live tile with the ability to also show knowledge articles, it is now possible to create different variations of Hub live tiles. Bringing not only news but also knowledge directly to your personal- or shared space. Providing even quicker access to all knowledge articles or specific knowledge categories you are interested in.
Configuring the live tile
Administrators can use these variations to display news and knowledge to department-specific spaces and users have the option to add these live tiles to display news and knowledge which is relevant to them in their personal space.
In addition to this new feature for the Hub live tile configuration, we have also expanded the available permissions for creating and managing knowledge categories and articles within the Hub. This gives more granular control to content creators.
Automated user provisioning (SCIM) – What is it and why should you care?
Having a user-centric adaptive workspace is great and allows your organisation to provide users with everything they need, whether it’s access to applications, files and information; or enabling collaboration between teams and users. But none of this means anything if you can’t properly provision these users and the groups they belong to from a central location without the need to perform manual steps or manage external resources. This is why we are introducing Automated user provisioning via SCIM for Workspace 365 in our Boost license package.
The SCIM API brings user provisioning directly to the core of Workspace 365 and removes the need to host your own synchronisation server to connect Workspace 365 to your Azure Active Directory. We will not be deprecating the existing synchronisation tool so you don’t have to make the switch if you don’t feel the need to do so.
Because SCIM API is part of the Workspace 365 hosted platform, we are taking care of hosting resources and maintenance, simplifying your IT infrastructure and removing the need to manage and maintain your own synchronisation server.
Configuring automated user provisioning (SCIM) in your Workspace
Administrators can easily enable automated user provisioning (SCIM) from the Workspace 365 “Settings” page and use the generated API token to configure SCIM in their Azure tenant. What else is new
The features above are the update highlights but we also have some other nice improvements for you:
- We have added additional actions to the bookmarks section in our Documents app and live tile. This means you now have the same set of options you are already familiar with for normal files, providing a consistent experience.
- We have introduced several enhancements regarding accessibility and readability, which will positively affect contrast ratios, as well as the styling of icons and alert bars.
