Update: Communication Feature Pack – (un)follow announcement categories and comments

Receive notifications from announcement categories

Most internal communication departments create groups to target messages to specific departments, roles or other segments. However, sometimes you also want to give people the power to turn off notifications to prevent an information overload.

With this new feature, you and your colleagues can now decide whether you want to follow (or unfollow) certain categories. You simply open the Announcement Centre, select a category and tick ‘Following category’ in the top right corner. After doing this, you will no longer receive notifications on this category in your Activity Feed. By default, people will receive notifications for announcements in categories that they have permissions to.

Get notified about comments in the Announcement Centre

Another new feature to boost interaction is that you will now receive a notification in your Activity Feed when someone commented on your announcement if you are the author, have commented yourself or follow the announcement. However, if you wish to not get notified on these notifications, you simply click the three dots in the bottom right corner of the notification and turn it off. You’re the one in charge of your own workspace, own it! 😉 This will also allow people to follow comments and updates on announcements.

Bigger and better: more overview in the Yammer tile

We now allow you to increase the height of the Yammer tile. This gives you a better overview of published posts, polls and videos in Yammer. Before, the biggest size you could choose was 8×8. You can now choose to make the tile bigger to three different sizes: 8×10, 8×12 and 8×16. This makes it possible for you to see the whole post without scrolling in the tile. As people will see the post and comment box, they will be enticed to react, and you will get more connected with your organization and team!

Easily find your highlighted search queries

Looking what you’re searching for has now been improved with the search highlight feature! When typing a word in the Global Search Bar, you will now see the highlighted search query in the list of potential matches. This makes it easier for you to find the right document, announcement, email, folder, application, file, or person.
