If we may say so ourselves, we have an amazing update for you. We’ve given the Activity Feed some powerful upgrades for both users and admins, by enabling people to perform actions straight from the feed, as well as adding the possibility to set up activities for specific user groups. And that’s not all! We’ve also completely revamped the app store, and more! Keep on reading to discover all the new features and improvements.

Perform actions in the Activity Feed

Approve or deny a leave request or a task that has been appointed to you? Check a file that’s been submitted for review? Don’t you open that app to do so, because from now on, you can do this straight from your Activity Feed!

With this update, we proudly introduce actions in your Activity Feed. This is exactly what it sounds like: you can complete tasks without ever having to leave the workspace to do so. Saving you loads of time checking and switching between applications. It also enables you to let people work smarter.

Create custom actions

It was already possible to set up “if this, then that”-type of notifications with for example Zapier or Microsoft Power Automate, or by writing your own code. Now, you can add actions such as approve, deny, check, add, edit and more!

This basically means that if you can dream it, you can build it – as long as the third-party application you want to use for it allows it. You can use this let people work smarter, as well as more productively and efficiently, because you can automate parts of processes and enable people to be automatically notified when actions need to be performed.

You can use this for simple business processes such as approving or denying expense claims, but also for more complex ones such as requesting approval on documents from team members and notifying them if the approval process is completed.

Of course, you could also use it to open your favourite playlist on Fridays at five. The options are endless – it’s up to you.

Actions in the Activity Feed

Activity Feed settings for groups

More Activity Feed improvements! Before, you could only set up a notification for either one person, or everyone in the environment.

Now, you can set notifications – and also actions! – for entire user groups. This enables you to cater actions and notifications to specific user groups. So you could set up HRM processes in the Activity Feed for one group of people, while others receive more Sales or project management-related messages.

This way, you can create a smarter workspace for each user group.

New app store design

Cleaner, clearer and more organised: check out the new design of the Workspace 365 app store!

This one’s the first of several steps to hugely improve both the looks and the functionality of our app store. This step is all about the looks, improving your overview of available applications, app types and their properties.

One of the upcoming steps we already mentioned in our previous update, is the App Request Flow. With this functionality, we want to make self-service possible and simplify the process of requesting applications for all employees, including the IT service desk. And you can give your feedback on it by signing up for the Innovator Circle!

Which Micro App do you want to have in the workspace?

Within Workspace 365 we already integrate and simplify the usage of solutions like SharePoint, Teams, Yammer, AFAS and much more. We are very curious if there are any complex processes that we can simplify for your organisation. Please share how we can help your organisation on our feature request page.

What else is new?

The features above are the highlights of this update. But there’s more, such as:

  • When trying to upload a file to a folder with a file with an identical name, you are now presented with the options to replace it, skip the upload or keep both files.
  • You can now open the containing folder of a file via Global Search.
  • We optimised the styling of the 2×2 tiles.
  • We increased the Clientless RDP security.
