If you liked our Microsoft Teams integration from update 3.24, you’re going to love this update! Because now you can use Workspace 365 within Microsoft Teams even more easily, by adding it as an app.

Furthermore, we are making both users’ and admins’ (work) lives a little easier by introducing a new way to request and approve (and of course deny) access to applications, saving loads of time for all parties involved.

Find out everything this update has to bring and keep on reading! Or, of course, watch our update video:

A Workspace 365 app in Microsoft Teams

It’s no secret we love Microsoft Teams. And we’re not alone. That’s why we’ve already taken several steps towards integrating it into our adaptive workspace, and vice versa. This update we do so again, and proudly introduce the Workspace 365 app in Microsoft Teams.

Yes, it was already possible to add Workspace 365 to Microsoft Teams. However, you had to add it in a chat or to a Teams channel. Now, an admin can offer Workspace 365 as an application in the main sidebar of Microsoft Teams. They can set this as a ‘homepage’ for Teams, so that the workspace is the first thing people see when they open the app.

A single starting point for your workday

We want to enable people to significantly lower the amount of time they spend every day switching between applications and checking different sources of information.

That is why we unite your most important applications, tasks, processes and platforms. Whether that is in Workspace 365, or in another platform such as Microsoft Teams. As long as it simplifies the way you work.

Request access to apps via the App Store

Reduce support tickets, increase productivity! Our new app request flow will save both users and admins time and effort.

You may have already seen our recently updated app store. Those changes laid the foundation for some exciting things to come. The first thing’s even already here: the possibility to request access to applications from the app store.

The new app request flow

Before, it was not possible for people who were not admins to see the app store. However now they can use it to request access to applications they want or need. When they do so, they can include a reason in a message to the admin.

The admin will receive this request in the Activity Feed, from which they can open the request to view the reason and deny or approve it. If they approve it, they should change the permissions in the workspace and also grant access (e.g. using Intune) to the applications in their back-end which we later want to integrate into the process as well.

Our partner Insign.it has already built in the possibility to install local applications directly from the workspace. In this case, the admin only needs to give permissions in the workspace and people can install the application themselves.

No more back and forth

Including this process in the workspace itself will save the admins a lot of emails, messages or support tickets, making it a more intuitive process. The same goes for the user: they can request an app with one click from a clear overview.

Retrieve icons from Workspace 365 using an API

Did you know that you can integrate parts of Workspace 365, such as applications or the Document App, into other platforms, such as your existing intranet? Well, you can. And we just made this a smarter process.

Now, when the API retrieves the link of the application you want to embed in another platform, it also retrieves the icon image. This means that the tiles in your other platform will now be more consistent with what’s in Workspace 365, and will change whenever you change it in Workspace 365 as well.

Which Micro App do you want to have in the workspace?

Within Workspace 365 we already integrate and simplify the usage of solutions like SharePoint, Teams, Yammer, AFAS and much more. We are very curious if there are any complex processes that we can simplify for your organisation. Please share how we can help your organisation on our feature request page.

What else is new?

The features above are the highlights of this update. But there’s more, such as:
